Lahore Qalandars reached in final after defeat Islamabad

LAHORE: In the second Eliminator of the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) 10, Lahore Qalandars defeated Islamabad United to secure a place in the final.

Chasing a target of 203 runs set by Lahore Qalandars, Islamabad United’s batting lineup collapsed and was bowled out for just 107 runs, resulting in a heavy defeat by 95 runs.

The match, played in Lahore, saw Lahore Qalandars winning the toss and opting to bat first. Fakhar Zaman and Mohammad Naeem opened the innings for Lahore. Fakhar was dismissed early after scoring 12 runs. Mohammad Naeem and Abdullah Shafique then added 50 and 25 runs respectively before returning to the pavilion.

Thanks to a responsible knock by Kusal Perera, Lahore posted a total of 202 for 8 in the allotted overs. Perera was the top scorer with 61 runs.Tymal Mills took three wickets while Salman Irshad claimed two for Lahore Qalandars.

In response to the massive 203-run target, Islamabad United kept losing wickets at regular intervals. After losing four wickets for just 33 runs, Salman Ali Agha scored 33 and captain Shadab Khan added 26 runs. However, no other batter managed to reach double figures.Islamabad United were bowled out for 107 runs in the 16th over, resulting in a 95-run loss. Shaheen Afridi, Salman Mirza, and Irshad Hussain each took three wickets.
