PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has constituted a provincial Paigham-e-Aman Committee aimed at promoting peace, religious harmony and dialogue across the province.
The committee was formed through an official notification issued with the approval of KP Chief Minister Sohail Afridi.
Maulana Muhammad Tayyib Quraishi has been designated as the committee’s coordinator, while 12 members from different schools of thought and minority communities have been included in the body.
According to the notification, the committee will work to promote the national narrative in accordance with KP’s local and regional circumstances and encourage tolerance, harmony and constructive engagement among different religious and ideological groups.
The committee will also oversee and coordinate Paigham-e-Aman-related activities across the province as part of efforts to strengthen social cohesion and foster a culture of peace and mutual understanding.
