KARACHI: A Karachi court on Wednesday granted police a three-day physical remand of alleged drug supplier Anmol, also known as Pinky, in a narcotics case registered by Karachi South Police.
The decision came a day after the court had rejected the police request for physical custody and sent the suspect to jail on judicial remand.
During the latest hearing, investigators argued that further interrogation was necessary to trace the alleged cocaine supply chain, examine Pinky’s financial sources, and conduct a Criminal Record Office (CRO) verification. Police officials also informed the court that records of several previous cases linked to the suspect had been obtained.
According to police, Pinky was arrested from Karachi’s Garden area and had been wanted in at least 10 criminal cases. Authorities claim to have recovered cocaine, weapons, and other narcotics worth nearly Rs1.5 million from her possession.
Investigators allege that she was operating an organised drug distribution network in Karachi.
Meanwhile, police said they recovered several audio recordings from Pinky’s mobile phone. In one alleged voice note, she warned associates about the possibility of her arrest or death and indicated that another person would continue managing the network using the same contact number.
Separately, authorities replaced the SSP South in an ongoing inquiry related to the case. DIG West Irfan Baloch has now been assigned to investigate all matters connected to Pinky’s court appearance and alleged protocol violations.
Officials said the inquiry report must be submitted within three days, adding that strict action would be taken against any officers found involved in misconduct or negligence.
