LAHORE: Punjab government announced a special compensation package on Wednesday for the families of children who were killed and injured in the tragic roof collapse at a tuition center in Lahore’s Kahna area.
According to the provincial government, financial aid will be distributed swiftly and transparently to provide immediate relief to those affected.
This compensation package was approved under the directives of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz following the catastrophe that resulted in the deaths of 14 children and left several others injured.
Punjab Chief Minister’s Adviser Zeeshan Malik stated that each family of the deceased would receive Rs2 million, while those injured would be granted Rs500,000 as financial assistance.
“The Punjab government shares the grief of affected families and stands fully in solidarity with them during this challenging time,” Malik stated, emphasizing that relief efforts began immediately after the incident.
He assured that the government would guarantee the quick and transparent distribution of compensation to ensure timely financial support for the affected families.
Expressing profound sorrow over the incident, the chief minister’s adviser conveyed condolences to the bereaved families and wished for a rapid recovery for those injured.
Officials mentioned that the compensation distribution process would conclude soon, with continued government oversight to support the victims and their families effectively.
