JHELUM: The district administration has intensified security preparations in Jhelum amid the possibility of a Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) protest in Sarai Alamgir.
Officials have finalised a security plan that includes road closures and the placement of shipping containers at key points to control traffic and restrict movement.
According to reports, containers have been deployed at several locations, while heaps of sand have also been placed along roads as part of the security arrangements.
A large number of containers have been lined up near the bridge over the Jhelum River, with a truck carrying medicines also seen in the area.
The road closures have disrupted normal traffic, leaving commuters and transport operators facing difficulties in reaching their destinations.
The measures come as authorities prepare for possible PTI activity linked to the party’s planned march towards Islamabad.
