RAWALPINDI: Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Director General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry on Wednesday briefed the media on the security situation in Balochistan, saying the province had witnessed three significant terrorist attacks during the past four days.
Speaking at a press conference, the military spokesperson said the first incident occurred on the night of July 4–5, when militants identified by the military as Fitna al-Khawarij attacked civilians in the Hanna Urak area.
Lt Gen Chaudhry said local residents mounted a strong resistance, forcing the attackers to retreat before security forces arrived.
He added that the assault claimed the lives of four civilians, while six others were injured. The military blamed the attack on what it described as the Indian-backed militant group Fitna al-Khawarij.
The ISPR chief said the armed forces, together with law enforcement agencies, remain committed to eliminating terrorism and ensuring peace and stability across Balochistan.
