Ishaq Dar urges media to avoid speculation on Iran–US talks

ISLAMABAD:  Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar chaired a high-level meeting at the Foreign Office in Islamabad on Saturday to assess recent regional developments.

During the meeting, he reaffirmed that Pakistan is playing a facilitative role in ongoing talks between Iran and the United States, aimed at promoting peace and regional stability. He emphasized that the country remains committed to continuing these efforts.

Dar also clarified that only statements issued through official channels represent Pakistan’s position on the matter. He cautioned that comments attributed to unnamed officials, whether appearing in traditional media or on social platforms, should not be considered authoritative.

Additionally, he urged both print and electronic media outlets to avoid speculation and rely strictly on verified, official communications when reporting on the Iran-US dialogue process.
