Quetta: Independent candidates have taken a majority in local bodies election in 32 districts of Baluchistan while first phase of polling for local bodies election and transfer of powers at the grass root level have completed.
As per non-governmental results of 32 districts of Balochistan, independent candidates got the majority seats while the ruling Balaochistan Awami Party (BAP) has gotten second position while nationalistic parties.
Ruling at the center Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz got the worst defeat in the local bodies elections in Balochistan. A bomb blast, attack by hand grenade, scuffle during the polling claimed two people lives and many others injured.
According to unofficial and unconfirmed results, the independent candidates won a total of 1487 seats in the province, whereas, Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) remained at second position while securing 27 seats.
National Party weight was remained heavy by getting 100 seats across the province. While Pakhtunkhuwa Mili Awami Party (PKMAP) got 87 seats and stood at fourth position.
Incidents of clashes were reported between voters and supporters of the candidates in Qila Abdullah, Noshki, Chaman, Sibbi, Naseerabad, Daki and Chaghi.
As many as 1974 polling stations were declared sensitive while 2034 were declared highly sensitives in the local bodies election.
