ISLAMABAD: The Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan has rolled out a fully online, paperless Degree Attestation System (DAS), marking a significant step toward digital governance and improved public service delivery.
In an official statement, the commission said the new system is secure, efficient, and accessible around the clock, allowing applicants to complete degree attestation from anywhere without visiting HEC offices or submitting physical documents.
Under the updated process, paper copies of educational documents will no longer be accepted. Instead, applicants will receive digitally issued e-Attestation Certificates, which can be verified online along with the attested records.
The new system went live on May 11, 2026.
HEC added that applications submitted under the previous system will continue to be processed until June 30, 2026. However, applicants have been urged to complete pending submissions before the deadline to avoid delays.
Those who have not yet paid fees under the old system are encouraged to apply directly through the new online platform.
The commission confirmed that previously issued attestations will remain valid and can also be verified digitally.
HEC further directed applicants with foreign or non-traditional educational backgrounds at the 10- or 12-year level to obtain equivalence certificates from the Inter Board Committee of Chairmen (IBCC).
It also warned that documents showing alterations, overwriting, or erasures will not be accepted, and candidates must obtain corrected versions from their respective institutions.
Transcripts whether complete or in progress are eligible for attestation, provided the issuing university clearly indicates the academic status, such as “degree in progress” or “incomplete program.”
Applicants can access detailed guidelines and apply through the official Higher Education Commission Pakistan website at hec.gov.pk/site/verification.
