Govt Has Increased Overall Debts To 70 Percent: Sherry Rehman

Islamabad: Vice-president Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Sherry Rehman has expressed concerns over the trend of increasing debts.

In her tweet, the PPP leader said “the people used to say before coming to power, they will not take loans and these people just after assuming power have taken 270 trillion rupees.”

She said that at the end of PPP government back in 2013 the overall debt were 162 trillion rupees which jumped to 298 trillion rupees in 2018.

Former ambassador to America, said that Pakistan total debts and due payments have increased to 505 trillion rupees in the year 2021.

Sherry Rehman said that the government has increased overall debts to 70 percent adding that every Pakistani earlier was indebted to the tune of Rs. 144,000.

After the loans of the current regime every citizen has indebted to 2 lakh and 35 thousands of rupees, she added.

She said that this government has over burdened the every Pakistani with 91 thousands rupees more.
