Gold prices surge by over Rs10,000 per tola across Pakistan

KARACHI: Gold prices witnessed a sharp increase across Pakistan on Monday, with the price of one tola rising by more than Rs10,000, according to the All Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Association.

The association said the price of 24-karat gold per tola jumped by Rs10,800, reaching Rs455,136.

Similarly, the price of 10 grams of gold increased by Rs9,720, taking it to Rs389,600.

The surge in local gold rates followed a significant rise in the international market, where the price of the precious metal climbed by $108 to $4,327 per ounce.

Market analysts attributed the upward trend in domestic prices to gains in global bullion markets, which continue to influence local gold rates.
