Gold prices jump over Rs7,000 per tola ahead of Pakistan’s FY2026-27 budget

KARACHI: Gold prices in Pakistan registered a substantial increase on Friday, June 12, as investors turned to safe-haven assets ahead of the presentation of the federal budget for fiscal year 2026-27.

According to the All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association, the price of 24-karat gold per tola climbed by Rs7,250, reaching Rs439,966, compared to Rs432,716 in the previous trading session.

The price of 10 grams of 24-karat gold also moved higher, rising by Rs6,525 to Rs375,947 from Rs369,422. Likewise, 10 grams of 22-karat gold gained Rs5,925, settling at Rs344,923 against the earlier rate of Rs338,998.

The upward trend mirrored developments in international markets, where gold advanced by $72.50 per ounce, taking the price to $4,175.30 from $4,102.80.

Silver prices also followed a bullish trajectory in the local market. The per tola rate increased by Rs190 to Rs7,079, while the price of 10 grams of silver rose by Rs171 to Rs6,028.

Globally, silver strengthened as well, with prices climbing $1.90 per ounce to $66.00, up from $64.10 in the previous session.
