Gold price hikes again in Pakistan

KARACHI: Gold prices in Pakistan experienced a significant increase on Friday, August 21, driven by a robust rally in global bullion markets amid ongoing geopolitical tensions.

As per the latest data from the All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellery Traders Association (APSGJA), the rate of 24-karat gold climbed by Rs5,200 per tola, reaching Rs477,136. This is a rise from the previous session’s rate of Rs471,936.

The prior day’s rate and the international gold price are reported separately, at Rs471,936 per tola and $4,495 per ounce, respectively.

In terms of weight, the price of 24-karat gold per 10 grams also saw an increase of Rs4,458, now valued at Rs409,067, up from Rs404,609.

Globally, gold prices surged by $52 per ounce, now trading at $4,547, compared to $4,495 in the previous session, according to the association.

Silver prices also saw upward movement in the local market. The price per tola rose by Rs210, reaching Rs7,379 from Rs7,169.
