KARACHI: Gold prices in Pakistan posted a strong increase on Thursday as renewed military escalation between the United States and Iran drove investors toward safe-haven assets.
According to the All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association (APSGJA), the price of 24-karat gold surged by Rs3,600 per tola, taking it to Rs433,836.
The rate for 10 grams of 24-karat gold climbed Rs3,086 to Rs371,944, while 10 grams of 22-karat gold rose Rs2,829 to Rs340,961.
Global gold prices also moved higher, gaining $36 to reach $4,113 per ounce, reflecting increased demand amid heightened geopolitical uncertainty following fresh US strikes on Iran.
Meanwhile, silver prices remained stable in both domestic and international markets. In Pakistan, silver held firm at Rs6,421 per tola and Rs5,504 per 10 grams, while the international silver price stayed unchanged at $59.42 per ounce, APSGJA reported.
