Elections Should Be Held As Per Constitution, If It Were Delayed Then PPP Will Oppose: Bilawal

Karachi: Chairman People’s Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has said that the general elections should be held as per the constitution while once again he invited Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) to come to the parliament.

Holding a presser in Karachi, Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto said that his father and co-chairman of the party through 18th amendment restored the 1973 constitution.

Bilawal Bhutto said that Asif Zardari also compelled the selected government to pack up through a no-confidence motion.

He said that the PPP will still move forward under the constitutional measures. He warned that if the elections were delayed then we will oppose it.

He said that the 1973 constitution is a deposit of Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and we wanted that all the institutions work under its limitations.

The PPP chairman said that we believe in supremacy of the parliament whereas the politics of hate and divide is being promoted in the country.

Bilawal said that politics of “If I were not allowed to play then I will not allow anyone to play” is going on in the country.

He said that a reference pertaining to the murder of Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto has been pending for 12 years while he appealed to the Chief Justice that provide justice to Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto.

The young chairman of PPP said that we think that some people passed disputed verdict on murder of Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto.

Regarding Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM-P), Bilawal said that we wanted to work joining with the MQM-P but the MQM should not have hope to the PPP that it will do any thing illegal and unconstitutional.
