KARACHI: A devastating incident occurred in the Ibrahim Haidri area of Karachi, resulting in the deaths of four individuals and leaving one in critical condition after inhaling toxic fumes while cleaning a water tank at a private residence.
Rescue authorities reported that the tragedy unfolded when a water tank, contaminated with sewage water, released hazardous gases. When the residents entered the tank to perform cleaning, they were overcome by suffocation from the toxic fumes, causing them to lose consciousness.
Emergency services and police responded swiftly after being alerted. Two people were pronounced dead at the scene, while three others were transported to Jinnah Hospital in unconscious states. Sadly, two of the injured individuals succumbed to their injuries at the hospital. Currently, one person remains in critical condition.
