Forensic analysis of alleged drug kingpin anmol’s phone uncovers 100GB data, 75,000 images

KARACHI: Investigators probing the alleged drug trafficking network linked to Anmol alias Pinky have recovered more than 100GB of digital data from her mobile phone, according to sources familiar with the investigation.

The forensic examination report has been handed over to the investigating officer and contains a substantial amount of electronic evidence that authorities believe could play a key role in the case.

Among the recovered material are over 75,000 photographs and images, along with screenshots of bank deposit slips and online payment records, which investigators say may point to an organised financial system supporting the alleged narcotics operation.

Sources further disclosed that the device stored approximately 13,000 contacts and 42,000 call logs, while forensic experts also found two separate WhatsApp accounts operating on the same phone, allegedly allowing the suspect to manage multiple communication channels.

Anmol, who has been in custody since last month, faces allegations of drug trafficking and other serious offences, including murder. She was reportedly arrested during a joint operation by police and a civilian intelligence agency at her apartment in Karachi’s Garden area.

At the time of the raid, authorities claimed to have seized cocaine, other narcotics, and weapons valued at around Rs1.5 million, alleging that she was running a drug distribution network across the city.

The suspect has denied the accusations, maintaining that she was detained in Lahore 15 days before being shifted to Karachi.

Last month, a Karachi court remanded her to judicial custody in multiple cases after she was presented in various criminal proceedings.

Following the arrest, Sindh Inspector General of Police Javed Alam Odho said the investigation could expose several influential individuals allegedly connected to the narcotics trade. He noted that multiple cases, including those registered by the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF), were already pending against the suspect.

The police chief also confirmed that the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) had joined the probe to examine financial transactions, while the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) was tasked with investigating the alleged use of online platforms for drug sales.
