ISLAMABAD: July 10: A widely circulated video on social media depicts a foreign woman alleging she was assaulted by female police officers at Islamabad’s Kohsar Police Station.
In the footage, the woman claims that instead of receiving help, she was physically assaulted by police personnel inside the station. She further states she had initially contacted police in Sector F-6 over a financial dispute but was allegedly subjected to violence after being brought to Kohsar Police Station.
The video also shows female officers engaged in an argument with the woman and allegedly mistreating her during the incident.
Following the video’s circulation, SSP Operations Islamabad ordered an inquiry and instructed the SDPO Kohsar to investigate the matter thoroughly. A police spokesperson indicated that initial assessments suggest the dispute may be civil in nature. Efforts are underway to resolve the issue diplomatically, and the inquiry aims to establish the facts.
Police have yet to release any official findings concerning the woman’s allegations, and the investigation remains active.
Meanwhile, there are reports that two foreign women, who were purportedly abducted and raped in Lahore, may have already left Pakistan. Journalist Abid Khan, speaking to The Reporters, suggested that the victims might have departed the country, noting that law enforcement authorities have kept details of the case confidential.
Khan added that the women’s current locations are unknown following their statements recorded under Section 164 of the Criminal Procedure Code yesterday. He warned that if the victims have indeed left Pakistan, it could impact the case’s outcome, as their absence might weaken the prosecution’s evidence.
Additionally, initial police reports indicate that five individuals were involved in the alleged abduction and assault. Today, authorities produced four suspects in court as part of the ongoing investigation.
