First Phase Of Local Bodies Elections In Sindh Turn Bloody As One Killed, 26 Other Injured

Hyderabad: Polling for the first phase of Local Government elections have turned bloody and marred by accusations of rigging and violence while one person killed and more than 26 people were killed in various 14 districts of Sindh.

Firing incident reported in union council Jonas which claimed one life and three people injured while the polling staff were also made hostage, however, the area police recovered the polling staff and shifted them to protected place in armored vehicle.

Owing to the incident polling stations were shut down and candidates and voters returned back to their home.

In UC Pahnawar Dabr, a clash was reported resulted into injuries to three people where army and rangers were called.
Another clash occurred at a polling station of Kandrani in Jacobabad where six people were injured including activists of ruling PPP and JUI-F were injured.
