Islamabad: The Finance (Supplementary) Bill, 2021 and State Bank of Pakistan (Amendment) Bill 2021 were introduced in the House today [Thursday] while the bill suggested to increase sales tax on as many as 150 things.
The House adopted the resolution with a majority vote amid uproar from the opposition benches. The NA adopted different resolutions extending various Ordinances for a period of 120 days.
These Ordinances include; “the Federal Government Properties Management Authority Ordinance, 2021â€, “the Elections (Third Amendment) Ordinance, 2021â€, “the Public Properties (Removal of Encroachment) Ordinance, 2021â€, “the Pakistan Council of Research in Water Resources (Amendment) Ordinance, 2021â€, “the Pakistan Food Security Flow and Information Ordinance, 2021†and “the Tax Laws (Third Amendment) Ordinance, 2021â€.
Earlier, National Assembly resumed its session at the Parliament House in Islamabad this evening with Speaker Asad Qaisar in the chair.
At the outset of the session the opposition parties started protest against the mini budge presented by the government.
The speaker assembly referred the amendment bill regarding the State Bank of Pakistan to committee. The opposition parties encircled the speaker dise and tore down the agenda copies.
The scuffle erupted between women belonging to PPP and PTI as earlier party member Shagufta Jumani slapped later party member Ghazala Saifee.
The House will now meet at 11 a.m. tomorrow [Friday].
