Field Marshal Asim Munir vows to defeat hostile designs against Balochistan

ISLAMABAD: Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir has warned that attempts by hostile elements to destabilise Balochistan, obstruct its development and create divisions between the state and the people will be defeated through national unity and a decisive state response.

According to a press release issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Friday, the field marshal expressed these views during a special interaction with prominent personalities and members of the political leadership of Balochistan.

Field Marshal Asim Munir said Balochistan and Pakistan shared an inseparable present and future, stressing that the bond between the province and the country would remain permanent.

He praised the people of Balochistan as talented, resilient, patriotic and proud, saying the province possessed enormous human and natural potential.

The field marshal said a clear national narrative, coupled with enduring peace and stability, was vital to unlocking Balochistan’s economic potential. He said improved security would help attract investment and enable the province’s resources to be transformed into tangible prosperity for its people.

Highlighting the role of young people, he said Balochistan’s youth represented one of the country’s most vibrant and promising segments and had no shortage of talent or opportunities. He stressed that empowering young people and enabling them to participate actively in national progress remained essential for sustainable and long-term development.

Field Marshal Asim Munir said groups described by the state as Fitna al-Khawarij and Fitna al-Hindustan were foreign-sponsored proxies being used by hostile forces to undermine peace in Balochistan.

He said such elements sought to derail development projects and drive a wedge between the people and the state. However, he maintained that these objectives would fail in the face of the nation’s collective resolve and the state’s firm, determined and decisive response.

The field marshal also commended Balochistan’s notables and social leaders for their contribution to promoting peace, strengthening social harmony and advancing a constructive national discourse.

He called for a comprehensive effort to counter hostile propaganda, expose what he described as false narratives and highlight the genuine potential, progress and aspirations of the people of Balochistan.

Emphasising the central role of the province’s people, Field Marshal Asim Munir said the destiny of Balochistan rested solely in the hands of its own people.

The participants and political leaders reaffirmed their commitment to peace, development and prosperity in Balochistan and Pakistan. They pledged to stand alongside the state and the armed forces against foreign-sponsored threats to the province’s peace and stability.

They also expressed their resolve to support people-centred development aimed at building a peaceful, stable and prosperous Balochistan and countering what they described as hostile propaganda and false narratives.
