Islamabad: Federal government on Sunday removed Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Umar Sarfaraz Cheema from the post of Governor ship.
Spokesperson of the Pakistan Muslim Leauge-N (PML-N) Maryam Aurangzaib has confirmed the federal government move.
Sources said that the federal government has said a summary for removal of Governor Punjab Umar Cheema to President of Pakistan, Dr Arif Alvi.
President Dr. Arif Alvi appointed Omar Sarfraz Cheema as Governor Punjab under Article 101 of the Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, 1973.
The decision came after the removal of Mohammad Sarwar from the position of Governor of Punjab on the advice of Prime Minister Imran Khan.
