WEB DESK:Today, Eid al-Adha is being celebrated in Saudi Arabia and other Arab countries.
The largest congregations for the Eid ul-Adha prayer was held at Masjid al-Haram and Masjid al-Nabawi.
Pilgrims returned from Muzdalifah to Mina to throw pebbles at the big Satan, perform animal sacrifices, shave their heads, and open their Ihram.
Saudi leadership is receiving congratulatory messages from leaders of various Islamic countries on the occasion of Eid.
Earlier, on Thursday, over 1.6 million pilgrims performed the major ritual of Hajj, the Wuquf (Standing at Arafat). During this event, special prayers were offered for the Palestinians.
The Imam of Masjid al-Haram, Sheikh Dr. Saleh bin Abdullah, prayed, “O Allah, grant victory to our brothers in Palestine over the enemy.”
On the other side, Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan had a telephone call with the UN Secretary-General.
During the conversation, both leaders discussed a two-state solution for Palestine and the regional situation. An international conference on Palestine is scheduled to be held this month in New York.
