ECP Postpones Second Phase Of Local Bodies Elections In Karachi Once again

Islamabad: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), on Wednesday, after cancelling local bodies elections in nine districts of Sindh, also postponed the second phase of local bodies elections in Karachi as well owing to rains and floods across the province.

A meeting was held at central office of the ECP in Islamabad in the chair of Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Sikander Sultan Raja for holding second phase of local bodies elections in Karachi.

The huddle reviewed weather situation of Karachi and matters of local bodies elections.

Sources said that the decision to postpone the local bodies elections in Karachi has been taken over the reports of provincial election commissioner and district administration.

The local bodies elections in Karachi are being postponed over rains and flood situation, whereas before this, the local bodies elections were also cancelled in Hyderabad.

It is merit to mention that the second phase of the local bodies elections have to be held in Karachi, Hyderabad and Thatha divisions on August 28.
