DG ISPR: 2,084 terrorists killed, 819 Pakistanis martyred in 2026

ISLAMABAD: Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry said on Friday that Pakistan’s security forces carried out more than 40,000 operations across the country in 2026, resulting in the killing of 2,084 terrorists.

Speaking at a press conference focused on the national security situation, particularly in Balochistan, the DG ISPR revealed that security forces conducted a total of 40,348 operations throughout the year.

He said 31,080 operations took place in Balochistan, 7,177 were conducted in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, while 2,091 were carried out in other parts of the country.

Lt Gen Chaudhry also disclosed that 3,145 terrorist incidents were reported during the same period. Of these, 1,971 occurred in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 1,148 in Balochistan, and 26 in the rest of the country.

He added that security forces maintained an average of 194 intelligence-based operations (IBOs) daily as part of ongoing counterterrorism efforts.

According to the DG ISPR, the operations led to the elimination of 2,084 terrorists. He further stated that 819 people embraced martyrdom, including 303 Pakistan Army personnel, 194 members of law enforcement agencies, and 322 civilians.
