Deadly blast targets Quetta shuttle train near Pishin

QUETTA: A terrorist attack struck a passenger shuttle train near the Pishin area of Quetta, causing panic among civilians and disrupting public transport in the region.

The train, carrying families, elderly passengers, women, and children traveling ahead of Eid celebrations, was reportedly targeted near Chaman Phatak. Authorities described the incident as a deliberate assault on innocent civilians and public infrastructure.

Initial reports indicate that the explosion caused damage to the train as well as nearby vehicles and surrounding buildings, raising concerns about the safety of public transportation routes in Balochistan

Security officials stated that extremist elements continue to attack soft civilian targets after failing to challenge Pakistan’s security forces directly. Analysts believe such incidents are aimed at creating fear, instability, and unrest in the province.

Government representatives condemned the attack, calling it a brutal act of terrorism that goes against the cultural values and traditions of the people of Balochistan Officials added that forces seeking to destabilize the region are attempting to undermine peace, development, and ongoing progress in the province.

Authorities further emphasized that such violent actions will not weaken national resolve and reaffirmed their commitment to ensuring security and stability across the country.
