Deadline approaching for waiting-list applicants of Punjab green tractor scheme: submit payment by Dec 22

LAHORE: The Punjab Department of Agriculture (DAP) has issued a notice to farmers on the waiting list for the Chief Minister Punjab High Power Green Tractors Program, emphasizing that their installment payments must be completed by December 22. Failure to do so will result in the cancellation of their allocation, 

As per detail, Under the Green Tractor Scheme, farmers are eligible for a subsidy of Rs 10 lakh per tractor. The program offers locally assembled tractors ranging from 50 to 85 horsepower, all produced within Pakistan.

Farmers can select their preferred tractor models from manufacturers such as Millat Tractor Company, Al Ghazi Tractors Limited, and other domestic tractor producers through an online registration portal.

The subsidy amount for each tractor is PKR 1,000,000.

Eligibility Requirements:

• Ownership of agricultural land between 1 to 50 acres.
• Farmers across Punjab, whose livelihoods heavily rely on agriculture, face challenges due to outdated farming techniques and expensive equipment.

In 2025, the Punjab government launched the Green Tractor Scheme to tackle these issues, aiming to make advanced machinery accessible and promote farm mechanization across the province.

Interesting Fact: Punjab is investing over PKR 60 billion to distribute 20,000 new tractors across the region, marking a record investment in agricultural mechanization in Pakistan.
