ISLAMABAD: A civil court in Islamabad has issued bailable arrest warrants for the Capital Development Authority (CDA) chairman and the Islamabad commissioner over alleged non-compliance with a court decree.
Civil Judge Naseeruddin issued the warrants after the court was informed that a decree in the case of Muhammad Rashid versus CDA chairman had not been implemented in full.
The court was told that the decree, originally passed in favour of Muhammad Rashid in 2000, was subsequently upheld by the Supreme Court. The petitioner claims to be among those affected by the CDA’s acquisition of land in Mouza Badiya Qadir Bakhsh.
According to the petitioner, despite the acquisition of the land, he has yet to receive the benefits provided under the CDA’s rehabilitation policy.
He further contended that the court’s decree remained only partially implemented and sought directions for its complete enforcement. Barrister Hasnain Haider Thaheem represented the petitioner before the court.
After hearing the arguments and being informed that the decree had not been fully executed, the civil judge ordered the issuance of bailable arrest warrants against the CDA chairman and the Islamabad commissioner.
The court also directed the concerned authorities to ensure full compliance with the decree and warned that legal proceedings could be initiated in case of failure to follow its orders.
