CM Punjab Visits Murree To Review Rescue And Relief Operation

MURREE: Chief Minister of Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar on Sunday arrived in Murree and saw aerial view of affected areas.

The CM has also been given in detail briefing of the rescue operation continued in Muree. Sardar Usman Buzdar also inspected relief work in affected areas.

Provincial Minister for law Raja Basharat, special assistant to CM for Information Hassan Khawar, chief secretary, IG police and other respective officials were also present at the occasion.

The CM also directed to speed up restoration of roads and releif operation.

Preliminary report of the tragic incident has also been presented to Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar.

As per sources, the report submitted to the Punjab chief minister said that Murree has the capacity to park 32,000 vehicles, while more than 72,000 vehicles entered Murree on Thursday.

The report also stated that the tourists parked their vehicles on the side of the roads after parking space ended.

It merits mention that at least 23 people have lost their lives while being trapped in their vehicles after snowstorm in Murree and other northern areas of the country.
