Karachi: Chief Justice (CJ) Gulzar Ahmed on Friday ordered Commissioner Karachi to demolish the Nasla Tower within a week and presents its report in the court.
CJ heard the petition regarding the Nasla Tower at the Karachi registry today.
At the occasion, Ameer Jamat-e-Islami Karachi Hafiz Naeem Ur Rehman requested the court to hear him as he is a citizen of the city.
To which the CJ reprimanded Hafiz Naeem and said the court will not allow any political speech and ordered him to take seat.
During conversation between the duo, Hafiz Naeem said that the court should order the Sindh government to compensate the affectees of the Nasla Tower.
CJ responded “who are you and what interest do you have in this building.” Hafiz Naeem replied that he is the citizen of the city.
Justice Aijaz Ul Hassan, on the occasion said ” do politics outside the court and there is no work to be done for you.”
The CJ ordered the commissioner Karachi to bulldoze the Nasla tower within a week and submit a report regarding its demolition within a week.
