Lahore: Lahore High Court (LHC) on Friday summoned Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar in the case of non removal of non-verified content related to the Quran and other religious book from the social media.
Justice Shujat Ali Khan heard the petition filed by Hassan Moawia regarding non removal of non-verified content related to the Quran and other religious books.
The petitioner argued the LHC in its verdict on March 5, 2019 had ordered to remove non verified content related to the Quran and other religious books from the websites, social media and other portals but this content was not removed yet.
Additional Direcotr Cyber Crime Baber Bakht Qureshi, DPO Jhang Bilal Ahmed and other officers appeared before the court.
Judge Shujat Ali Khan expressed anger over not appearing of DG FIA in court today and non-implementation of the court orders.
Judge in his conversation with DPO Jhang, said that why don’t you should be punished on non following the court orders.
The translation of the Quran is the matter of all and everyone knows the performance of the police in our country, Judge remarked.
On law officer statement, Justice Shujat Ali Khan said that the court didn’t need any report instead the court wanted implementation of its order.
He said that why doesn’t summon Chief Minister Punjab and we will ask him what is your point of view on the issue, if he doesn’t want any action on this then petition be taken back.
