WEBD DESK: Pakistan’s renowned javelin thrower, Arshad Nadeem, has advanced to the final round of the Javelin Throw event at the Asian Athletics Championship.
He secured his spot with an impressive first throw of 86.34 meters during the qualification round.
The highly anticipated final is scheduled to take place tomorrow, May 31. Nadeem will once again represent Pakistan, aiming to clinch another prestigious title on the continental stage.
After Arshad Nadeem, Yasir Sultan from Pakistan also made it to the final, and in his very first attempt, he achieved a throw of 76.70 meters.
Nadeem has made significant headlines recently, especially during the 2024 Paris Olympics, where he achieved a record-breaking throw exceeding 90 meters — the sixth-longest in the world.
His remarkable performance earned him Pakistan’s highest civilian award, the Tamgha-e-Imtiaz. His return to Pakistan was celebrated nationwide, highlighting his status as a national sports icon.
