ANP Terms EVMs Modern Way to Rig Elections

PESHAWAR: Awami National Party (ANP) on Wednesday while rejecting the Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) said that the machines were new and modern way to rig elections.

Addressing a press conference in Peshawar on Wednesday flanked by ANP information committee members Rehmat Ali Khan, Taimoor Baaz Khan and Hamid Toofan, ANP KP spokesperson Samar Haroon Bilour said that 3000 electronic voting machines will have to be manufactured on daily basis for 2023 general elections, while the experiment of RTS has failed in previous elections.

She said according to the federal minister for science and technology, the results will be released in 45 seconds after polling, adding that transparency is required in the data being stored. β€œThe data should be linked to the ID card to maintain transparency,” she added.
