Anmol Pinky Case: Questions raised over ‘Contradictions’ in police investigation

KARACHI: Concerns have surfaced regarding the police investigation into cases involving alleged narcotics suspect Anmol alias Pinky, after court documents highlighted several inconsistencies and possible flaws in the probe.

Anmol Pinky was arrested earlier this month during a joint operation conducted by police and a civilian intelligence agency at her apartment in Karachi’s Garden area. She faces charges related to narcotics possession and keeping an unlicensed weapon.

According to material submitted before the court, investigators stated that Anmol was taken into custody on 12 May from Apartment No. 306. However, the same report mentioned that two other suspects  identified as Zeeshan and Sohail  were later arrested from the very same apartment on 16 May, raising questions about the sequence of events and investigative procedure.

Court records also pointed to similarities in the description of narcotics allegedly recovered in different arrests linked to the case. Legal observers noted that details of the seized contraband appeared to be repeated across separate reports, casting doubt on the authenticity and independence of the recoveries documented by police.

The investigation report has now officially been included in the court record as judicial proceedings in the case move forward.
