Karachi: The sole provider of electricity, K-electric has suddenly started and increased load-shedding at midnight throughout Karachi owing to which Karachiites lives have become hell.
The load-shedding has been increased owing to rising temperature and closure of the Bin Qasim Power Plant number three.
The load-shedding also started even in the exempted areas and power outages duration increased in these areas by one and half hour to two hours. The exempted areas are being facing the power outages of six hours, two hours thrice daily.
The electricity provider even commenced power outages in the areas which have a record of full recovery of billing.
Areas Facing Load-shedding At Midnight
The areas, where the load-shedding is being carried out at midnight include Lyari, Jail Road, Hyderabad Colony, Old Sabzi Mandi, Liaqutabad Dak Khana, PIB Colony, Jamsheed road, Akhtar Colony, Mahmoodabad, Kashmir Colony, Azam Basti, various areas of scheme 33.
Besides that Kathore, Malir Saudabad, Model Colony, Khokhrapar, Gulistan-e-Jauhar, Rizvia Society, Gulbahar, Pak Colony, Manghopir, Pahar Gang, Qasba, Orangi, Korangi, Landhi, S.I.T.E Metrovel are also in the load-shedding areas.
Moreover, more areas which are facing brunt of the power outages include, North Nazimabad, North Karachi, UP Mor, Kaliyana Town, Bahadurabad, Tariq road, Ahsanabad, Gulshane Maimar, Razaqabad, Gulshane Hadded, Shah Latif Town, Kemari and Mauripur.
Closure Of New Bin Qasim Power Plant
Owing to closure of a new Bin Qasim Power Plant, only 250 to 300 MW electricity is being generated from the Bin Qasim Power Plant 1.
On the other hand, the K-electric refuted that there is no additional load-shedding is being carried out in Karachi.
